Hi — I’m Lyn Koenning, an award-winning musical director, vocal coach, and accompanist. I headed up the musical theatre program of study at UT Austin for ten years, and my students have appeared on Broadway, Disney theme parks and cruise ships, regional theatre across the country, and television and film.

I’ve accompanied master classes for Broadway stars and directors including Kathleen Marshall, Billy Porter, Laura Osnes, Mandy Gonzalez, Judy Kuhn, Tonya Pinkins, Joseph Leo Bwarie, and J. Quinton Johnson. I’ve also enjoyed collaborating on new musicals with Tony- and Grammy-winning directors, playwrights, and composers like Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis (Urinetown), Cheri Steinkellner (Sister Act, Cheers), David Zippel (City of Angels), Matthew Wilder (Mulan, Hercules), Berton Averre (co-writer of 1979’s #1 song, My Sharona), and Broadway producer Natasha Davison.

I’m the Artistic Director of the two-week summer intensive for high school students who want to receive pre-professional training in musical theatre and college auditioning skills from Broadway professionals, Texas Musical Theatre Workshop.
